In a recent escalation of violence in northern Syria, the Fath al-Mubeen Operations Room (FMOR) has condemned the Assad regime and its Iranian allies, including Hezbollah, for renewed aggression against civilians in the liberated areas of Idlib and rural Aleppo. According to a statement released by FMOR, the Assad regime, bolstered by Iranian militias, has been intensifying attacks on civilian populations, deploying a combination of heavy artillery, rockets, and suicide drones (FPV drones).

Over the past few weeks, the FMOR reported a series of targeted strikes in these regions, with FPV drones and artillery shelling particularly affecting civilian vehicles and homes. The attacks have resulted in the deaths of eight civilians and left 38 others seriously injured, including women, children, and the elderly. The group stressed that the ongoing violence is causing widespread displacement, with over 10,000 families forced to flee their homes in search of safety in western and border areas.

The FMOR also highlighted the strategic reinforcement of front-line positions by the Assad regime and Iranian-backed militias. Reports indicate that Iranian militias, including Hezbollah, have been preparing for a potential offensive in Idlib and Aleppo. In addition to ground assaults, Russia, a key ally of the Assad regime, has been providing crucial aerial reconnaissance via planes and drones to assist in the military operations.

The FMOR’s statement accused the Assad regime and Iranian militias of systematically deepening the humanitarian crisis in the region. “This aggression has only increased the suffering of our people,” the statement read, calling out the use of advanced warfare technologies, including suicide drones, which have been employed to target civilians.

FMOR vowed to defend the liberated areas against any further aggression, stating that it was fully prepared to counter the escalating military operations. “We will not hesitate to defend ourselves and protect our people,” the statement declared. The group emphasized its readiness to respond to any future attacks and asserted its “revolutionary duty” to safeguard the regions under its control.

As the situation remains volatile, it is clear that the involvement of Iranian militias and Russian aerial support continues to pose a significant threat to the stability of northern Syria. Both Idlib and rural Aleppo remain key battlegrounds, with civilians bearing the brunt of the latest hostilities. The FMOR has urged international actors to recognize the severity of the crisis and take steps to mitigate the continued suffering of the local population.

The FMOR is a coalition of opposition forces operating in the northwest of Syria, primarily focused on defending areas under their control from the Assad regime and its allies. The group has been actively involved in resisting regime offensives in Idlib and Aleppo, regions that have become symbolic of the broader Syrian conflict.
