BuildEx 2025: A Catalyst for Syria’s Construction Industry Revival

International Construction Fair, BuildEx 2025, began Tuesday evening May 27.

BuildEx is a key platform for the construction industry, fostering collaboration and business growth in Syria. The 22nd edition of the International Construction Fair, BuildEx 2025, has officially kicked off under the patronage of key ministries.

This year’s event, held in the new exhibition city on the airport road in Damascus, has attracted 740 companies, including 490 local and 250 foreign participants, showcasing a diverse array of sectors such as construction, real estate, energy, furnishings, and finance.

The exhibition facilitates productive interactions among suppliers, manufacturers, buyers, and decision-makers within the construction and real estate development sectors. It also draws delegations of engineers and contractors from across Syria and neighboring countries.

Notable international and Arab participation at this year’s fair underscores a rising external interest in Syria’s rebuilding efforts. The presence of over 200 companies participating in BuildEx for the first time signals a fresh wave of global interest in the region.

Syrian officials, including Interior Minister Anas Khattab, have toured the event, He stated “The exhibition symbolizes Syria’s return to stability and reconstruction. High foreign and local participation is seen as a sign of renewed confidence. Security presence demonstrates the government’s commitment to safe economic growth.”

Italian Ambassador to Syria Stefano Ravanian said about the event, “BuildEx is a truly major event that confirms the potential for economic cooperation in Syria.”

BuildEx serves not only as a showcase for investment-ready opportunities but also symbolizes Syria’s push toward economic revival and reentry into the global market. The diverse turnout reflects a shifting economic landscape and highlights the potential for investor engagement in the country.

As Syria continues its journey toward stability and reconstruction, officials view BuildEx as a key driver in reintegrating the nation into international commercial networks.
