
The young Syrian pianist, Taim al-Jammal, has captured the attention of the world of fine arts after winning the admiration and praise of the jury at the 14th International Piano Talent Competition, hosted by the Italian city of Milan. Jammal’s achievement was not limited to this praise, he also received a prestigious certificate of participation and a special invitation to perform at the closing ceremony honoring the competition’s winners.
A Distinctive Qualification
The road to Milan began via the online competition, where Jammal advanced to the first round of the competition, which was held online. He delivered an exceptional performance, qualifying him to the second stage and participate in the final rounds at the prestigious Italian competition.
His achievement is particularly noteworthy, as he is the only Arab to have successfully reached this advanced stage of the intense competition. Eleven talented contestants from diverse countries participated in the Talented category (aged 11 to 13), including Ukraine, Belarus, Italy, Germany, Japan, China, and Serbia, giving Jammal’s qualification an air of exceptionality.
A Promising Musical Journey
It’s worth noting that talented young musician continues to hone his talent academically. He is currently in his fourth year in the piano department at the Solhi al-Wadi Music Institute in Damascus, under the supervision and training of experienced professor Svetlana Shatta. This international achievement represents a milestone in his early artistic career and a window through which Syrian talents shine onto the international stage, carrying with them a rich and ambitious legacy that knows no bounds.
