Chaired by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, the People’s Palace in Damascus hosted the launch of the new visual identity of the Syrian Arab Republic this evening. This event embodies the historical transformation of the Syrian state after years of challenges.

An Identity that Redefines the Social Contract

Minister of Information, Hamza al-Mustafa opened the event, emphasizing that “we stand on the threshold of a new narrative built not on dazzling design, but on redrawing the relationship between society and the state. This identity is the fruit of a difficult labor, an embodiment of the new Syria—a political space from and for the people. The people of Syria, both inside and outside the country, participated in its formulation, so that it may reflect all Syrians and express their new state: a state of citizenship and care, not privilege.”

Reclaiming the International Position

Minister Asaad al-Shaibani explained Syria’s diplomatic strategy, “We rejected the crumbling reality and worked diligently to restore Syria’s international presence. At every meeting, we presented a new face that showed Syria in its true light, far removed from the slogans of the past. Today, we announce our return to the international arena has transformed from a wish into a reality, and Damascus is regaining its position as the gateway to the East. This celebration is a declaration of the cultural death of all the injustice represented by the former regime, disguised in slogans.”

An Identity Speaking for Syria

Team Director Wassim Kadoura revealed the project’s philosophy, saying, “We did not create a slogan, but rather built a comprehensive national identity that expresses the state’s prestige and culture. I dedicate this work to the souls of the martyrs of the Syrian revolution, and to all those who liberated the homeland and are contributing to its construction today. We launch it as an act of belonging and collective awareness toward the future.”

Syrian Diversity, a Source of Wealth and Strength

At the conclusion of the ceremony, President Sharaa delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of this historic moment, which witnesses the launch of the new visual identity of the Syrian Arab Republic. He pointed out that Damascus is the capital of the first world, and that Damascus is its beginning and end.

President Sharaa affirmed that the Syrian people are the makers of history, that their blood was not shed in vain, that their suffering was heard, that their migration has ceased, their prisons have been dissolved, and that patience has brought them victory.

President Sharaa considered that the new visual identity expresses a Syria that does not accept division or partition, a unified Syria, and that cultural and ethnic diversity is a factor of richness and strength, not division or conflict.

Finally, Sharaa paid tribute to the young Syrians who contributed to building this identity, emphasizing that beloved Syria deserves more, declaring a break with the past system of oppression and tyranny.
