He praised the staff at the crossing for their thoughtful handling of his father’s case, noting that the necessary paperwork was completed inside the car due to the patient’s health condition.
Workers at the crossing indicated that development efforts continue, including improvements to infrastructure, electronic systems, and logistical services. These steps aim to strengthen the crossing’s role as a modern and welcoming entry point that facilitates the movement of people and goods between the neighboring countries.
Significance of the Josiah Crossing
The Josiah crossing is one of the most important land routes linking Syria and Lebanon. Located in the city of Qusair, southwest of Homs Province, opposite the Lebanese town of Qaa, it serves as a vital economic and humanitarian artery enhancing social and commercial ties between the two neighboring peoples.
Reactivating such crossings contributes to stimulating trade exchange, reducing transportation costs for traders, and improving the flow of goods and passengers. The continued enhancement of facilities and procedures represents an important step toward strengthening cooperation and restoring vitality to cross-border relations.
