Tartous Markets Festival Celebrates Holidays and Liberation Day

The Tartous Markets Festival kicked off today at the city’s old hall, coinciding with the holiday season and Liberation Day celebrations. The event brings together 40 local companies and institutions offering a wide range of goods, including food products, clothing, shoes, household items, and cleaning supplies, with discounts reaching up to thirty-five percent.

Supporting the Economy and Blending Joy and National Unity

Head of the Tartous City Council, Engineer Shadi Halima, said that organizing such economic and cultural events plays a key role in spreading joy and supporting local economic activity. He noted that the festival helps citizens meet their daily needs at reduced prices while reinforcing values of solidarity, love, and social connection within the community.

Ahmad Nabhan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Layla” Foundation, which organizes the festival, explained that the event coincides with important national and religious occasions to highlight Syria’s unity. Held under the slogan “In Syria, the minarets call to prayer and the bells ring,” the festival goes beyond shopping to include concerts and entertainment activities that create a festive, family-friendly atmosphere. The event will continue for eight days, concluding on December 28.

Diverse Offers and Positive Public Response

The festival features participation from leading Syrian companies, including Al-Wadiyan Dairy Company, Darwish Trading Company for legumes and canned goods, and European clothing stores. Several factories are also present with direct displays, such as Al-Walaem Canned Goods Company, alongside local artisans showcasing traditional products like Aleppine soap.

Visitors expressed satisfaction with the organization and variety of goods on display. Suhair Malla described the atmosphere as “wonderful,” praising the attractive offers, while Muhammad Isa noted that prices were noticeably lower than usual, making the festival an ideal opportunity for both shopping and entertainment.

The Tartous Markets Festival stands as a model for initiatives that stimulate the local economy while combining affordable access to goods with celebrations that spread joy during national and religious occasions.
