Nissan and Kia Motors Officially Return to Syrian Market

Nissan Motor Corporation officially announced its return to the Syrian market, coinciding with the historic first entry of its luxury brand, Infiniti. The dual launch will be carried out through a strategic partnership with Rakhaa Commercial Co. Ltd., which has been appointed the exclusive distributor for both brands in Syria. The move marks a significant milestone in the regional growth strategies of Nissan and Infiniti, reflecting a renewed commitment to building an organized, sustainable, and service-oriented presence in the Syrian market.

The partnership was formally announced during a signing ceremony at the regional headquarters of Nissan and Infiniti Middle East in Dubai, attended by senior executives from both sides. The agreement establishes a new phase of cooperation and creates a structured framework for delivering modern transportation solutions and a comprehensive ownership experience aligned with global standards.

Phased Market Launch Strategy

Under the partnership, Nissan will implement a phased approach to relaunch its operations in Syria. The initial phase includes the opening of a sales and after-sales service center in Damascus in 2026, followed by gradual expansion to other major Syrian cities in line with market conditions and operational readiness.

All facilities will be developed in accordance with the Nissan Retail Concept (NRC) and Infiniti’s global standards, ensuring a customer-centric sales and service experience designed to meet the expectations of the local market.

Reviving a Historic Partnership

Nissan’s return revives its original partnership with Rakhaa, dating to 2006. During its early years, the collaboration succeeded in establishing a nationwide sales and after-sales service network. Although commercial operations were suspended in 2011, Rakhaa continued to provide essential after-sales services, maintaining continuity and fulfilling its commitments to customers and the local market.

Omar Shallah, chairman and CEO of Rakhaa Commercial Co. Ltd., said the announcement holds “deep personal and professional significance” for him and the Rakhaa team, describing it as both the continuation of a long journey and the beginning of a renewed chapter.

Thierry Sabbagh, senior vice president and chairman of Nissan Middle East, Saudi Arabia, CIS and India, said Nissan’s return to Syria is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence across the Middle East. Albert Khreich, managing director of Infiniti Middle East, said the partnership represents “a pivotal moment” for Infiniti as it establishes its presence in the Syrian market for the first time.

Kia’s Return to the Syrian Market

In a related development, Kia Motor announced in January 2026 its official return to the Syrian market after years of absence. The move reflects the company’s confidence in the market’s future and its commitment to providing vehicles and services meeting global standards of quality and reliability.

Kia’s re-entry is being carried out through its official agent, G&T Group, under a long-term partnership aimed at revitalizing the automotive sector and meeting Syria’s transportation needs. The new phase includes the introduction of a diverse range of models, along with a comprehensive package of after-sales services.

Together, the return of Nissan, along with the first-ever entry of Infiniti, and Kia signals a notable revival of Syria’s automotive market, built on strategic partnerships, modern vehicles, and renewed commitments to quality and service.
