Syria made a significant appearance at the International ISO Conference held in Rwanda’s capital Kigali, marking a pivotal moment in its efforts to re-engage with the global community in the field of standardization. The conference, which gathered experts and representatives from various countries, aimed to foster international cooperation and share best practices in developing and implementing standards across various industries.
SASO Plays a Leading Role
Dr. Yasir Aliwi, Director General of the Syrian Arab Standards and Metrology Organization (SASO), led the Syrian delegation at the event. His participation underscores Syria’s commitment to enhancing its standardization framework and aligning with international norms to improve the quality and competitiveness of its products.
He held several fruitful meetings with his counterparts from participating countries, during which they discussed ways of cooperation and exchange of expertise in the fields of standardization, quality, and accreditation. Discussions focused on enhancing international cooperation in the field of standards and metrology, and exchanging expertise on best practices to support quality and industrial innovation.
