The 23rd Agritex International Exhibition for Agricultural and Veterinary Supplies began June 26, 2025, at the Damascus Fairgrounds. The event features the participation of 142 local, regional, and international companies and ends Sunday, June 29.
Extensive Organization and Participation
Agritex is organized by Atassi Exhibitions, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, the Federation of Chambers of Agriculture, and the Syrian Veterinarians Syndicate.
Atassi Company Director Ghazi al-Atassi confirmed the strong presence of prominent Syrian companies in the agricultural and veterinary sectors, in addition to the participation of companies from Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon.
Latest Technologies and Products
The exhibition is an integrated platform for showcasing the latest innovations in the agricultural and veterinary supplies industries. It offers a variety of advanced products and technologies, including highly effective veterinary medicines and vaccines, high-quality feed and raw materials, improved seeds, pesticides, and fertilizers, as well as modern irrigation systems, including pipes and advanced technologies, while also showcasing the latest tools and technologies supporting the agricultural sector.
Strategic Importance for Syria’s Economy
Dr. Saeed Ibrahim, Director of Economics and Agricultural Planning at the Ministry of Agriculture, described the exhibition as an “important strategic platform” for Syria. He pointed to the numerous benefits the exhibition offers to the Syrian agricultural sector, which is a fundamental pillar of the national economy and one of the most important pillars of food security.
The exhibition will contribute to the transfer of the latest agricultural and livestock technologies, leading to increased productivity and the quality of agricultural products. This, in turn, will contribute to raising the standard of living for farmers by improving their income and providing high-quality food products to consumers.
In addition, Agritex will provide a unique opportunity for the exchange of experiences between farmers, researchers, and investors, contributing to local capacity building. It will also encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly agricultural practices and help attract foreign investments necessary to modernize the agricultural sector.
Finally, the convention contributes to expanding markets for Syrian products by strengthening trade relations and signing partnership contracts with international partners. It highlights Syria’s role as a key player in the global agricultural community and supports its efforts towards achieving sustainable development.
