LAST 24 HOURS OF THE ISRAEL-GAZA WAR

• More than half a million people in Gaza are “starving” due to the food crisis, as reported by the UN and non-governmental agencies.

• The UN Security Council has passed a resolution to enhance aid delivery to Gaza, which is at an “imminent risk of famine” and faces the spread of diseases. The resolution has been criticized by some countries as “nearly meaningless” since it doesn’t explicitly call for an immediate ceasefire.

• The health ministry in Gaza reports that dozens of Palestinians have been killed this week and publicly “executed” during an Israeli military operation in the north of the besieged enclave.

• An Israeli airstrike in Gaza City resulted in the death of 76 members of the al-Mughrabi family, including Issam al-Mughrabi, a long-time employee of the U.N. Development Program, along with his wife and five children. The strike, one of the deadliest in the ongoing conflict, prompted a statement from the head of UNDP, Achim Steiner, emphasizing the impact on civilians and calling for an end to the war.

• According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, the war has been the deadliest for modern-day journalists, with 68 media worker killings in the region over the past ten weeks.
