After a six-year hiatus, the 62nd Damascus International Fair is set to launch once again in its new form following the fall of the Assad regime. This event stands as the largest economic, social, artistic, and cultural manifestation that Syria will experience since the fall of the regime–presenting a bright image of a nation that has shed years of injustice and oppression, donning the garment of freedom and openness to the world after a long period of isolation.
One of the Oldest Trade Fairs in the Region
The fair, which will take place at the Damascus Exhibition City, is considered one of the oldest and most important trade exhibitions in the Middle East and the Arab region. Since its establishment in 1954, it has served as a cultural and economic showcase for Syria. Its launch at that time created an annual platform that combined commercial activity with cultural and tourism movements, reflecting the country’s openness to global markets and its economic development.
International Participation and Opportunities for Business Networking
Since its first edition, the fair has garnered significant local and international attention, attracting participants from Arab and other countries alike. It allows visitors to discover a variety of products and industries while providing companies with opportunities to showcase their innovations, conclude direct contracts and deals, and attract businessmen, investors, traders, industrialists, and companies operating in various service and production sectors. It also enables national companies to sign export contracts and enhances the presence of national products in foreign markets.
Exhibition City has Comprehensive Infrastructure
The Exhibition City in Damascus covers an area of 1,200,000 square meters, featuring approximately 70,000 square meters of built pavilions and 65,000 square meters of open exhibition space. It includes international pavilions, private pavilions, sales pavilions, a national Syrian pavilion, as well as a pavilion for handicrafts.
The city includes a special center for official delegations and prominent businessmen and investors. There is also a dedicated pavilion equipped for journalists, along with parking facilities that can accommodate over 3,000 vehicles. Additionally, there are 350,000 square meters of green spaces, a health center, a firefighting center, and a dedicated water pumping and desalination station. The Damascus International Fair is scheduled to take place from August 27 to September 5.
