A number of Syrian ministers participating in the opening of the 62nd session of the Damascus International Fair (DIF) confirmed that the event serves as a window into Syria to the outside world, continuing the journey of construction, development, and renaissance that the country is witnessing following its liberation.
Minister of Education Muhammad Turko stated that the fair is “a window for Syria to both the external world and the internal Syrian market,” featuring many pavilions from ministries and national, Arab, and international companies. He emphasized the ministry’s commitment to participating in this fair through a pavilion showcasing products related to it and its affiliated production institutes, while presenting the ministry’s perspective on education.
An Opportunity to Showcase Achievements
Health Minister Musab al-Ali affirmed the fair represents a real opportunity to showcase the achievements made during the past period following liberation and to enhance cooperation with Arab and foreign countries. He noted that the large and diverse participation from Arab and foreign entities reflects significant interest in this session.
Hamza Mustafa, Minister of Information said various deals signed over the past months represent a genuine opportunity to turn these memoranda into actionable agreements. Mustafa explained the fair serves as a platform for Syrian businessmen both inside and outside the country, encouraging them to invest in Syria.
These efforts positively contribute to citizens’ welfare building more stable and prosperous economy. He emphasized the vital role of media in keeping up with developments in Syria and the ministry’s efforts to present a new image of Syria through new media that portraying reality without exaggeration, accurately reflecting citizens’ voices and dreams for a stable state.
Confirmation of Recovery
Minister of Local Administration and Environment Muhammad Anjarani noted that the launch of DIF confirms the state of recovery and the journey of construction, development, and renaissance that Syria is experiencing overall.
He pointed out that there will be positive outcomes from the fair contributing to reconstruction efforts in Syria, as there are many successful experiences from countries and private companies in the field of reconstruction, making this event an opportunity to benefit from these experiences.
Syria Welcomes the World
Syria’s Communications and Technology Minister, Abdulsalam Haykal, explained that DIF brings hope, optimism, and a sense that after years of oppressive practices by the fallen Assad regime, the country has returned to its people who were forcibly displaced. He affirmed that today, with the launch of the 62nd session of the fair, Syria embodies this year’s theme: “Syria Welcomes the World,” by hosting hundreds of Arab and foreign companies and thousands of visitors.
