The Teknofest 2025 Festival, Turkey’s largest technology event, kicked off on Wednesday at Istanbul Ataturk Airport. The festival features official Syrian participation, represented by the Ministry of Economy and Industry, a number of ministries, government institutions, and private companies, along with a diverse international presence.
Ministerial Participation
The Syrian Economy Ministry is participating through a special pavilion aimed at highlighting Syrian talent, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives and innovative projects, and opening new horizons for cooperation and joint investment.
Secretary of the Deputy Economy Minister, Wassim al-Omar, emphasized that Syria’s participation in Teknofest reflects the Syrian government’s commitment to strengthening the position of national industry and openness to regional and international experiences. He underlined the importance of being informed on the latest innovations in digital technology and building bridges of cooperation with participating research and industrial institutions.
Omar added, “Our participation represents a practical step to support the industrial modernization process in Syria and opens the door to joint projects in the fields of smart industries, digital transformation, renewable energy, and creating an appropriate environment for the development of competitive national industries capable of meeting the requirements of the next phase.”
Mahmoud al-Zein, a Syrian student residing in Turkey, expressed his pride in the Syrian presence at this global event, considering that Syrian participation provides the Syrian community with an important opportunity to benefit from innovations and financial support, and strengthens its presence in the international scientific and technical movement.
An Opportunity for Advancement
Teknofest is an annual international platform organized by Turkish public and private institutions with the aim of strengthening Turkey’s global position in the fields of technology, space, and defense industries.
The festival, which runs until September 21, includes dozens of scientific and technical competitions, air shows, and exhibitions specializing in innovation, aviation, and space applications, in addition to educational and experiential activities targeting youth and students.
Syria’s participation in this event represents a strategic step toward strengthening international cooperation, exchanging expertise, and engaging in the global innovation ecosystem, contributing to supporting the national economy and developing the country’s technology and industrial sector.
