‘Syria Hi-Tech’ a New Vision Building an Advanced Digital Future

The eleventh edition of the Information and Communication Technology Exhibition, Syria Hi-Tech, opened at the Damascus Fairgrounds with the participation of 225 local, Arab, and international exhibitors. The exhibition is organized by the Arab Group for Exhibitions and Conferences and the Creative Exhibitions and Conferences Company in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Technology.

This year’s edition features a new visual identity reflecting Syria’s renewed ambition to build an advanced digital future. It presents the latest developments in information technology, smart cities, e-government systems, electronic payments, and modern applications in communications and artificial intelligence.

Exchange of Experiences in the Telecommunications Sector

Minister of Communications and Technology Abdulsalam Haykal stated that the exhibition provides an important opportunity for service providers and technology companies to meet in one place, allowing them to exchange expertise and discuss the needs of the telecommunications sector. He noted that the return of international companies to Syria requires deliberate work to prepare the market and restore core services.

For his part, Minister of Finance Muhammad Barnieh affirmed that digital transformation is an essential component of planning for a new Syrian state. He described the exhibition as a vital platform for exploring the latest technologies and digital services and highlighted the notable participation of exhibitors from abroad, which he said reflects growing interest in the Syrian economy.

Jordan’s Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Samirat noted that a delegation of eighty Jordanian companies has come to Syria to establish partnerships with Syrian firms. He said this cooperation would contribute to digital transformation and reconstruction while strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

Developing the Telecommunications Sector

The exhibition offers a valuable opportunity for companies working in telecommunications technology to present the latest innovations and digital solutions. It also supports communication between technology providers and sector stakeholders as part of broader national efforts to advance digital transformation.

Firas Barghoul, owner of an Internet service provider, said that his company’s participation allows it to showcase its latest internet and digital infrastructure solutions. He added that the exhibition provides a chance to meet technology companies and specialists to build partnerships and gather feedback from visitors and experts, which will help improve services and better meet user needs.

Local Syrian Companies Competing in Artificial Intelligence

Rami al-Mujahid, Public Relations Manager at the Syrian Association for Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship, stated that the association was established as a national platform aimed at applying artificial intelligence technologies across multiple sectors in Syria. The association organizes training courses, specialized seminars, and participates in local and international exhibitions and conferences.

This growing technical movement reflects a genuine desire among Syrians to keep pace with global digital transformation and integrate modern technologies across the country.
