Syrian Products Return to Regional Markets

Syrian industry is reclaiming its presence in regional markets through the Syrian Products Exhibition in Jeddah, a strategic move aimed at enhancing exports and supporting economic growth. Anas Tarabolsi, a member of the Board of Directors of Damascus and Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry, emphasized the exhibition’s significance as “an important step to reconnect Syrian industry with regional markets after years of disruption.” The exhibition, he noted, will once again place Syrian products across all sectors on track to enter the Saudi market, reflecting the quality of Syrian craftsmanship and restoring its historical standing.

A Broader Regional Vision

The Saudi market presents a major competitive opportunity due to its geographical proximity and fast shipping times. This is coupled with a long history of Saudi consumer preference for Syrian products, granting local Syrian industries a significant competitive advantage. Such exhibitions also provide a platform boosting exports, stimulating local production, opening new investment opportunities, and creating quality jobs in the industrial and agricultural sectors.

Syria’s strategy includes plans for subsequent expansion into the markets of Jordan, Kuwait, and Qatar. This approach is designed to diversify export destinations, strengthen domestic production, reduce reliance on a single market, and enhance opportunities for sustainable economic growth. According to Tarabolsi, these steps are part of a comprehensive vision to restore Syrian products to their place among regional nations and support the national industry in achieving economic security.

Pillars of the National Economy

It is worth noting that Syrian industry remains one of the fundamental pillars of the national economy, playing a vital role in creating job opportunities, supporting exports, and promoting economic development. Syrian products are distinguished by their quality and long-standing experience in regional markets, making their renewed presence in international exhibitions and markets a strategic step towards rebuilding their traditional stature and achieving sustainable economic growth.
