Under the slogan “Petroleum of the Future: Investment and Development,” the seventh edition of the Syria International Petroleum, Gas, and Mineral Resources Exhibition (SYR-PETRO 2025) opened at the new Exhibition City in Damascus.
The event is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy, in cooperation with the Syrian Petroleum Company and with primary support from UCC Holding. It is organized by Meshhadani International Group for Exhibitions and Conferences.
SYR-PETRO brings together leading national and international companies from nine countries, Syria, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Algeria, Turkey, the Netherlands, and Bulgaria, showcasing advanced technologies and future solutions in exploration, production, renewable energy, and industrial services.
Government Efforts to Develop Energy Sector
Assistant Minister of Energy Ghiyath Diab stated that the exhibition reflects the government’s commitment to developing the oil and energy sector as a cornerstone of reconstruction and a sign of economic recovery. He noted that recent reforms include updating energy legislation and establishing the Syrian Petroleum Company (SPC) to manage petroleum resources more efficiently and transparently, fostering cooperation between the public and private sectors.
Yusuf Qablawi, Executive Director of SPC, explained that the company aims to become a leading regional player in oil, gas, and petrochemicals. It is currently implementing strategic projects, including rehabilitating transport lines and constructing a new refinery about 51 kilometers from Homs, which will include residential and service facilities such as hospitals and schools. The project is intended to strengthen infrastructure, increase production, and meet local and export market needs.
Khalaf Meshhadani, General Director of Meshhadani Group, said that more than sixty companies are participating in the exhibition, which features seminars and discussions on new technologies in exploration, production, and renewable energy.
SYR-PETRO serves as a key platform for professional exchange, providing opportunities for investors, engineers, and decision-makers to form partnerships, share expertise, and explore emerging trends in the oil and energy sectors. The exhibition contributes to supporting economic development and enhancing energy security in Syria and the wider region.
