Revolutionary forces under the Command of Military Operations (CMO) have made sweeping advances across northern Syria, capturing key areas in Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama provinces as part of the ongoing Repelling the Aggression campaign. The offensive, launched last Wednesday, has significantly weakened Assad regime forces, which continue to face mounting losses and withdrawals amid collapsing morale.
On Sunday, the CMO announced control over the industrial city of Sheikh Najjar, a major industrial hub in Aleppo, further solidifying their presence in Syria’s second-largest city. This follows their capture of the Military Academy, Aleppo Central Prison, Ramousa Artillery College, and several other critical military installations.
In a statement, Colonel Hasan Abdulghani confirmed the latest victories: “Our forces have taken control of the industrial zone in Sheikh Najjar, Aleppo City, and the Khanasir-Aleppo highway. The advance is still ongoing.”
Revolutionary forces have also expanded their hold on Aleppo’s northern countryside, taking control of Seifat, Bashkoy, Handarat Camp, the Free Zone, and the village of Kafin. Their progress reflects a coordinated push to secure strategic transportation routes and vital urban areas, further isolating regime forces in the region.
Colonel Hasan Abdulghani announced, “We have taken control of Khanasir town, the Khanasir-Aleppo highway, and several strategic locations in northern Hama.”
Among the newly liberated areas in Hama’s countryside are Taybat al-Imam, Kafr Zeita, Kafr Nabudah, Halfaya, Al-Lataminah, Soran, Qalaat al-Madiq, Karnaz, Maardis, Al-Hamamiyat, Tarmala, Al-Fan Al-Shamali, Taybat Al-Ism and the strategic town of Morek, located on the Aleppo-Damascus international highway (M5).
In a historic victory, the CMO has declared the full liberation of Idlib province, including its countryside. The announcement marks a turning point in the years-long struggle for control over the province, which has been a focal point of the conflict.
“We announce the return of Idlib province to its people, after we have completed the liberation of the entire countryside, thanks to God,” Colonel Abdulghani declared.
The capture of Khan Sheikhoun, a major stronghold south of Idlib, was a crucial milestone in this success. Revolutionary forces have now secured a swath of territory linking liberated areas in Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama.
The campaign has inflicted significant losses on Assad regime forces, who have retreated from strategic positions across northern Syria. Reports indicate a sharp decline in morale, with regime personnel abandoning heavy weaponry and key defensive positions.
Revolutionary forces have emphasized their commitment to protecting civilians and ensuring stability in liberated areas. Their progress, marked by disciplined and strategic operations, cuts a stark contrast to the indiscriminate tactics employed by the Assad regime and its allies.
The simultaneous advances under the Repelling the Aggression campaign emphasize the growing unity and coordination among revolutionary forces. By reclaiming vital urban centers and transportation routes, the opposition has shifted the balance of power in northern Syria.
With the liberation of Idlib province and major gains in Aleppo and Hama, the revolution is poised to achieve further victories in the coming days. Their progress signals a pivotal moment in Syria’s protracted conflict, offering hope to millions of civilians displaced and oppressed under Assad regime control.
