• The ongoing Gaza war has resulted in over 22,700 deaths, 57,000 injuries, and numerous missing individuals, as reported by the Palestinian Health Ministry.

• An Israeli air attack in Jenin, West Bank, killed at least six people, confirmed by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

• Hamza Dahdouh, a 27-year-old photojournalist and son of Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau chief Wael Dahdouh, was killed in an Israeli air strike along with his colleague Mustafa Thuraya in the southern Gaza Strip. This tragic incident adds to the toll on the Dahdouh family, which had previously lost several members, including Wael Dahdouh’s wife, daughter, grandson, and another son, in an Israeli air raid in October.

• The Israeli army spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, stated that the Israeli military dismantled the Hamas leadership in northern Gaza and is shifting focus to central and southern Gaza.

• UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned in a report to the Security Council that a widespread famine is imminent in Gaza.

• The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor disclosed widespread mistreatment and “torture” of Palestinian detainees by the Israeli military, citing testimonies from recently released prisoners. The Geneva-based organization highlighted alarming abuses such as beatings, forced nudity, electric shocks, and confinement in iron cages, asserting that Palestinians are dehumanized by both the army and Shin Bet members.

• Save the Children’s director for the occupied Palestinian territory, Jason Lee, highlighted the heightened vulnerability of small children to life-changing injuries during explosions, emphasizing their weaker necks and torsos. UNICEF reported that over 1,000 children have undergone leg amputations since October 7, with the World Health Organization noting that many of these procedures occurred without anesthesia due to shortages of medical personnel and supplies.
