The Syrian Salvation Government (SSG) held a convention today, December 26, 2023, titled “Government Works between Visions and Achievements,” to showcase its accomplishments and progress throughout the year. The event was attended by government officials, and revolutionary leadership, and notables of the liberated territories.

Prime Minister Engineer Ali Keda spoke during the event and emphasized the ongoing efforts of the SSG to build a state rooted in the spirit of liberation, with a vision to encompass the entire Syrian territory. Stressing that despite facing numerous obstacles, the SSG remains dedicated to its mission of reconstruction and preparation for future challenges.

The SSG arose in 2017 from a critical need to address the administrative and organizational vacuum in the liberated areas, ensuring a clear administrative hierarchy and the provision of essential services for the people.

Prime Minister Engineer Ali Keda highlighted the pivotal role of the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Service in maintaining security and stability, resulting in a significant reduction in crime rates and the regulation of traffic within the region. This year also saw the opening of the region’s first Police Academy to elevate the standards and quality of public service from the local law enforcement officers.

The SSG’s commitment to governance and the well-being of its people was underscored by its focus on promoting education, establishing justice, protecting rights based on Islamic law and societal norms, and encouraging investments in the region.

In the agricultural sector, the SSG has made strides in increasing reserve stocks of essential crops and promoting self-sufficiency through strategic agricultural projects. Furthermore, the government has transitioned from emergency measures to developmental initiatives, including infrastructure projects and the establishment of medical facilities and educational institutions.

The SSG’s dedication to education is evident in the expansion and enhancement of educational facilities, the increase in the number of students, the restoration of schools, and the opening of new colleges in public and private universities. Additionally, the government has obtained international accreditations for the University of Idlib, furthering its commitment to academic excellence.

Efforts to strengthen the medical sector have resulted in the establishment of public hospitals and medical centers, the production of a wide range of pharmaceuticals, and the implementation of vaccination programs.

Infrastructure development has been a key focus, with significant progress made in road paving, sewage and electricity networks, water management, and communications infrastructure. The SSG has also prioritized supporting local products, creating a competitive market, and fostering an environment conducive to investment and industrial growth.

Prime Minister Engineer Ali Keda’s closing remarks reaffirmed the SSG’s determination to continue building a state rooted in liberation, with a vision to encompass the entire Syrian territory.

The convention provided a comprehensive overview of the Syrian Salvation Government’s achievements in 2023, demonstrating its dedication to governance, development, and the well-being of the people in the liberated areas.
